I’m Phillip. I run Gamarada Dog Training here in the San Fernando Valley, and I’m the person who will be working with you and your dog.

ABOUT PHILLIP
The dogs who gave me a direction.
Gamarada is a word from the Gadigal language of the Eora Nation in Australia, meaning friends or comrades. I chose it because my work is built around that kind of partnership: a dog who trusts you, works with you, and knows you have their back.
Before I became a trainer, I was interested in high-level working dogs but had no professional experience. In 2017, I got Gamarada—Gama for short—my Australian Cattle Dog.
She was talented, motivated, and easy to work with. Training her built my confidence and made me believe I could learn to work with any dog. We kept learning together, and she became the best dog I had ever worked with.
A year after I got Gama, I became a professional trainer. Then I met Sarge, my first rescue dog. He had belonged to a police officer, was deeply reactive, and people were afraid of him.
I knew he needed someone willing to stay patient and keep showing up. Sarge taught me how to slow down, understand what was underneath the behavior, and earn trust instead of expecting it. Together, Gama and Sarge taught me the confidence and patience that still shape the way I work with dogs and their people.
Kiwi came into my life as a foster fail and reminded me that puppies need patience, time, and room to grow. Together, Gama, Sarge, and Kiwi became my bestie trio.
They are the heart of Gamarada: friends and comrades who know each other, support each other, and help me show other dogs what trust, clarity, and companionship can look like.
THE PACK TODAY
The dogs behind the work.
These everyday moments are the reason I keep building training around trust, clarity, and a life you can actually share.
BEHIND THE CAMERA, TOO
A closer look at the everyday moments.
I enjoy photography and making dog-training content. I often capture genuine training moments so you can see some of your dog’s experience along the way.
